There is no account, no settings screen and nothing to configure, so almost everything below is about where a control is hiding rather than something being broken.
Starting a session
Press and hold anywhere on the circle for about six seconds. A ring fills around it as you hold. When it completes, the app shows a one-line read of which way you’re going and a button to begin.
If you lift your finger early nothing is lost — the ring simply empties and you can start again.
If the read is wrong
It often will be, and that is expected — it’s a rough guess from how you held the screen, not a measurement. On the read screen, tap the other option to switch. Mid-session, the words slower and brighter stay on screen the whole time; one tap moves you the other way without losing your place.
Changing how long a session lasts
Press and hold the begin button on the read screen. It cycles between the reset’s own written length, one minute, and four minutes, and remembers what you chose for next time.
Turning the screen dark mid-session
Tap anywhere while a session is running and the screen goes black. The session keeps running and the haptics keep pacing you, so you can put the phone face-down and follow it by feel alone. Tap again to bring the screen back.
The haptics feel too strong or too weak
They follow your phone’s system setting. If they are too much, turn down or switch off Settings → Sounds & Haptics → System Haptics. There is no separate control inside Neaptide.
It doesn’t need a connection
Neaptide works fully in airplane mode and on a phone with no signal. If something isn’t working, a connection is not the cause — there is no server for it to fail to reach.
Restoring your purchase
Neaptide is a one-off purchase with no in-app purchases and no subscription. If you have changed device, sign in with the same Apple Account and re-download it from the App Store — there is nothing to restore inside the app, and nothing is held back.
